Talks by Philippe Bensimon et Me Regout

The ever growing phenomenon of counterfeit artwork, and the principal function of intellectual property

Centre d’artistes Voix Visuelle is proud to present, with generous support from the National Gallery of Canada, Un mensonge encadré: le phénomène du faux en peinture,
a talk by criminologist Philippe Bensimon, and L’art de spolier l’artiste!, a talk by
Me Isabelle Regout. The presentations will be held on February 16, 2012 starting at 4:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall of the National Gallery.

Participants will learn, thanks to illustrations, about the ever growing phenomenon of counterfeit artwork, and the principal function of intellectual property in this new era of digital technology.

Centre d’artistes Voix Visuelle would like to thank AGAVF, ACO, AAOF and BRAVO, its partners, as well as the Ontario Arts Council, Canadian Heritage and the City of Ottawa for their support.
